WARNING! SPOILERS BELOW! If you don't want to know what happens in the 6th season, go back.

All of these spoilers were taken from different sources. I have divided each one by color to make them easier to read. *Spoilers do not necessarily go by date! They go by the order I have added them. I have collected as many as I could, plausible or implausible. After each one has been replaced by a newer, better, or updated version, I may delete the old. (or if the episode has aired.)I tried to put the spoilers by episode, some I just rewrote in my own words, I wanted to make it as easy to understand as possible. Many of the authors' comments have been taken out. Episodes go by assumed production order, but rumors go from newest to oldest. Please let me know if you have trouble understanding the way I did it. Some rumors are sort of the same. Note I have redone this spoiler page and have taken off old rumors. Most of them were for things that have now past. If they were important I left them on.

Writing an explanation of this episode is very confusing because of the body swap. After the change, I will label each character as who they actually are (MULDER looks like MORRIS; MORRIS looks like MULDER). It’s not too hard if you follow it carefully.

Dreamland II (2 of 2)

TEASER

HIGHWAY 375
RURAL NEVADA
11:17 P.M.

A car drives down a long highway and passes a restricted sign. Mulder is meeting a contact who works at Area 51, so Mulder thinks he knows the truth. Scully is skeptical and wants to know how Mulder knows he’s not just a crackpot. Mulder says it’s because of where he works, what they do there. Scully quips if it’s where for fifty years the military have been conducting classified experiments involving alien technology. Mulder tells her that the informant could have the proof that they’ve been looking for.

SCULLY: Mulder, it’s the dim hope of finding that proof that’s kept us in this car or one very like it for more nights than I care to remember. Driving hundreds, if not thousands of miles, through neighborhoods and cities and towns where people are raising families and buying homes and playing with their kids and their dogs. And in short, living their lives. While we, we, we just keep driving.
MULDER: What is your point?
SCULLY: Don’t you ever just wanna stop? Get out of the damn car? Settle down and live something approaching a normal life?
MULDER: This is a normal life.

Suddenly cars pull up blocking the agents’ way. A man, Morris Fletcher, asks Mulder who they are, and Mulder replies that they are FBI. Fletcher tells them that they have to leave. Mulder asks him why, that it’s a public highway. Fletcher responds that it also borders a site on US government testing grounds. Scully matches back to him:

SCULLY: Hiding top secret test flights? Using technology from UFOs?
MORRIS: Flying saucers? I got top secret for you.
MORRIS leans over to MULDER
MORRIS: There’s no such thing as flying saucers.

Suddenly a UFO flies overhead. All of them look up to the sky. When the camera pans down, we see Mulder standing where Morris was, in Morris's clothes, and vice versa. Morris gets in the car with Scully, who acts as if nothing has happened.

ACT ONE
Mulder is still standing there as the car (which I’m almost positive is an Intrigue!) backs away. The other men ask him if they should open fire and he tells them not to. Once Mulder is in the car, they are asking him why he let them go. Jeff Smooge says that they can’t make FBI agents disappear and that the bureau would take care of them. That’s what Morris was thinking.

Once inside, someone asks Mulder to see his badge. When he pulls it out, it says that he is Morris Fletcher and that he works with Majestic. (NOTE: Mulder is wearing a wedding band! But I’m assuming it to be Fletcher’s. It still could be an injoke though.) Mulder goes to Fletcher’s office, slides the ID into the security box, goes in, and shuts the door. He walks around the room seeing pictures of Morris with famous political people. He decides to call Scully.

Scully is in the car with Morris (who to her and everyone else looks like Mulder; to us, Fletcher). He’s acting strange. They stop at the gas station and she asks him if he’s all right, he has been quiet. He doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She says sarcastically it’s fine if he doesn’t want to talk. Morris tells ‘Dana’ the gas tank is on her side. She gives him a strange look but gets out of the car. Suddenly Mulder’s cell phone is ringing. Morris isn’t making a move to pick it up. She calls his name but he doesn’t answer. Meanwhile Mulder is shown hoping Scully will pick it up.

At Morris’s office, Jeff comes in.

JEFF: Bastard!
MULDER:
Hugh?

Mulder is confused and hangs up the phone.

Back at the gas station, she picks up Mulder’s cell phone, but no one answers. She goes to get back out of the car again and Morris calls her Dana again and asks if she will get him some Morley cigarettes. She wants to know when he started smoking, and he says, "You’re not gonna be a Nazi about it are you?"

Back in Morris’ office, Jeff talks to Mulder about what’s going on. He tells him that they ran a reverse trace, and someone, the leak, called the FBI from Wegman’s office. That they were rubbing their noses in it because they had access. However, he doesn’t know who it is. The phone rings. Mulder picks it up after Jeff tells him to do so. It’s Morris’s wife. She is yelling at him that he promised he’d call her, and he just tells her he forgot. She’s really mad, and just tells him to remember the milk on the way home. Jeff tells Mulder it’s time to go home.

Jeff drops Mulder off at Fletcher’s house. Mulder goes in and picks up the phone, presumably to call Scully, but in order to get an outside line he has to go through the secretary so he hangs up the phone. He goes and peeks in the bedroom where Morris’s wife, Joanne is sleeping. Gently closing the door, Mulder goes out into the living room and sits down. He flips through the channels until he finds a pornography on, and then puts the control down.

2:04 A.M.
Some of the military men are at another site, where the pilot and copilot of the plane are. The co-pilot has ‘melted’ into a large rock. The one man, Howard Grodin, tells Wegman about the captain.

GRODIN:
He’s alive, but, ah…
WEGMAN: But what?
GRODIN: I’m not sure yet.

The captain is speaking in a different language.

FBI HEADQUARTERS
WASHINGTON D.C.
9:42 A.M.

Scully is in AD Kersh’s office waiting for Morris. When he finally gets there he tells her that he got lost, and that he’s lost in the head today. Morris explains to Kersh what happened, and that he would tell him the name of the contact if he could. Then Kersh yells at Morris saying that they had been given direct orders to stay away from the X-Files. Morris apologizes for their disregard of his orders and tells him it will never happen again. They walk out of the office and Scully starts to ask him what is going on, when he goes back into the office and talks to Kersh’s secretary. It’s obvious he's flirting with her. When he comes back out, Scully starts on him again that he’s acting strange. He asks her if she’s jealous and then slaps her on the butt!

In the morning, Mulder wakes up with Joanne screaming at him and she turns of the television. He’s not quite awake yet and asks "Scully?" She wants to know who Scully is. She asks him what would their kids, Chris and Terry, think if they walked in a saw him acting like a pervert.

After she walks away, a girl comes down the stairs, and he calls her Terry. She screams and runs upstairs. Joanne asks him what he did to Chris. Next a boy comes down the stairs who he calls Terry, but he says it’s not Terry. So Mulder guesses ‘Chris.’ The boy tells him it’s ‘Terrance,’ that ‘Terry’ is for wusses. When he walks away, Mulder asks himself under his breath that ‘Terry’ isn’t?

In the kitchen Mulder is looking for Morris’s keys which Chris has. He goes to leave but Joanne yells at him, telling him he promised Chris he’d give her an answer about her nose. He tells Joanne that he thinks she’s too young for plastic surgery, and asks if she agrees. Chris screams and runs out; Joanne tells him she was talking about a nose ring.

Mulder starts to leave, but Joanne tells him he still has his suit on from the night before. Realizing this he goes up to the bedroom to find a suit, which all look identical. He happens to catch himself in the mirror and sees Morris. He does the popular mirror routine, moving and seeing that his ‘reflection’ moves the same. Then Mulder starts dancing in front of the mirror until Joanne comes in and asks what he is doing. He has a phone call. It’s Jeff. Morris is late, and he better hurry up. Something is going on.

At Area 51, General Wegman is talking to Grodin about what happened. It seems the captain of the plane was speaking a Native American language, Hopi. His name is Robert McDonough. They also found an old Native American woman, Lana Chee, who appears to actually be McDonough. They don’t seem to have much trouble accepting these strange facts.

In the FBI building, Morris and Scully are both sitting at their respective desks. Morris is playing golf on the computer. Scully gives him a strange look and he turns to her and says, "I got a birdie!"

Suddenly Scully’s phone rings. It’s Mulder who’s at a pay phone. He tells her that he’s Mulder, and that who she’s with is Morris Fletcher. They exchanged bodies with each other somehow when the UFO passed over. She doesn’t remember the UFO. Scully gets Morris to pick up the phone and listen in. Mulder hears the click and says that the line might not be secure. Mulder tells Scully that as long as they think he’s Morris he has access, but he needs her help. He’ll contact her again.

After Scully hangs up, she wonders what to do. Morris just wants to forget about it. She asked him if it was his source and told him they should trace it. He tells her that they shouldn’t, they don’t want to get yelled at again. She asks him if he’s sure it’s the best thing to do.

MORRIS:
Look, little lady, I think it’s time you got your panties on straight. We’re federal officers, we go by the book.

Scully is absolutely shocked.

Mulder drives to a gas station and buys sunflower seeds. He lets the man keep the change of eleven cents, a dime and a penny.

When Mulder leaves, the wind starts blowing and everything in the store starts to shake. Suddenly there is a bright light.

ACT TWO

Mulder is driving back when he is stopped the by military men again. He drives back with him and they go back to the gas station. Mulder goes in to find out what happened to the worker, even though they think it’s dangerous. The man is ‘melted’ into the floor. The men turn to leave, but Mulder doesn’t want to, they have to help him, he’s alive. Grodin shoots him. Not any more.

Scully walks down the hallway towards Mulder’s apartment. She sees Kersh’s secretary standing at Mulder’s door kissing him (Morris), her clothes rumpled. After she leaves and walks past Scully, Scully’s mouth opens. She is so shocked. Her mouth still hangs open.

Scully goes down to Mulder’s door and he thinks it’s the other woman, asking if she still wants more, but Scully tells him it’s her. Morris’s inside getting dressed and smoking. Scully still can’t believe it. She finally tells him that she traced the call, and that it came from a gas station pay phone, probably from the informant, but that she doesn’t know why he would try to impersonate him. Morris doesn’t care.

MORRIS: Are you out of your pretty little mind?
SCULLY: Am I out of my mind? Mulder, YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND! WHAT IS UP WITH YOU?!

Scully goes on to show him a file, saying that it’s an ‘X-File,’ his life’s work. He tells her that he understands they are off the X-Files.

When she leaves the camera shows Mulder’s face, and with Morris’s voice he calls her a bitch.

Back at Area 51, Mulder, Wegman, Smoodge, and Grodin are looking at a lizard that has his head fused with a rock. Grodin shows them where he believes is ground zero for the warp, and that hopefully when they analyze the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), they will find where the warp began. Mulder doesn’t understand yet, so Grodin explains. There was a tear in the space time continuum because of an anomaly caused by a craft malfunction. They operate in anti-gravity pulse mode. Wegman says that they’ve been flying the crafts since ’53. Mulder tells them that according to quantum physics, it’s possible. Grodin explains that anti-gravity systems utilize bends in space and time for propulsion. A sudden shift in a craft’s trajectory could create the kind of distortions they were witnessing - a lizard and a rock existing in the same time and space. Jeff says that the three of them were there that night, that they intercepted the FBI, and that they would have saw it, and it would have affected them. Grodin says that because they didn’t remember it makes his theory correct. Mulder adds that they don’t remember because of lost time. Grodin continues that lost time is a common symptom of close proximity to anti-gravity propulsion systems. He wants to know then why his head or Morris’s isn’t in a rock. Grodin doesn’t know, but that it’s possible they did suffer consequences from it that they don’t know about.

Scully is driving to the gas station, going by herself. When she gets there, she finds coins on the ground - a dime fused into a penny.

ACT THREE
The next morning Mulder is once again sleeping in the living room. Joanne wakes him up screaming at him that he must think she’s disgusting and unattractive, and that he doesn’t want to ever make love to her again. That he mumbles about Scully in his sleep. She wants to know who Scully is. Is she another woman? Mulder asks her if Scully sounds like a girl’s name. She’s still asking, so he tells her that even though he doesn’t like it, there are things about work that he has to keep secret. She doesn’t accept that. He apologizes to her, saying that she doesn’t know who he is. He knows he’s not the man she married. She makes a mistake and suddenly forgives him and hugs him, telling him that they can work it out, that there is a pill now. There are other ways to be intimate. Thankfully for Mulder, the doorbell rings. He has a really weird look on his face.

Joanne goes to answer the door. She tells Joanne that she is Dana Scully. Joanne’s smile fades. Mulder comes out smiling because Scully’s there, but Joanne slaps his face, swears at him, and walks away.

Mulder goes out to talk to Scully anyway, as Joanne starts throwing his belongings out of the house. Mulder explains what’s going on. He sees his reflection and says:

MULDER: Of course you don’t believe me. Why was I expecting anything different. All right. Your full name is Dana Katherine Scully, your badge number is…Hell I don’t know your badge number! You’re mother’s name is Margaret, your brother’s name is Bill Jr., he’s in the navy and he hates me. Lately for lunch you’ve been having like this little six ounce cup of yogurt, plain yogurt, into which you stir some bee pollen because your on some kind of bee pollen kick even though I tell you you’re a scientist and should know better.
JOANNE (from house): Cheater!
SCULLY: Look any of that information could have been gathered by anyone.
MULDER: Even that yogurt thing?…That is so you. That is so Scully. Well, it’s good to know you haven’t changed, it’s somewhat comforting.

Mulder tells her that he will prove it to her. She tells him he won’t, but wouldn’t mind if he came clean. She tells him good bye, calling him Mr. Fletcher, but he just keeps telling her he’ll prove it.

On the side mirror of a car, Mulder is seen (although it should be Morris you see). Then Morris’s (looking like Mulder) face comes into view in the mirror. Morris calls Area 51 pretending to be Mulder, and Grodin answers, wanting to know how he got the number. He tells him that someone there has been calling him at the FBI, that they have a leak. Grodin asks if he knows his name, and he replies that he does.

Mulder goes into a room and steals the FDR while Grodin is secretly watching.

Scully is driving once again. Her cell phone rings. It’s Kersh asking if she’s in Nevada. He tells her that her partner told him of the conversation they had with the airforce, and he is trying to save her from making a big mistake. He tells her that she will follow his instructions to the letter or not to bother coming back.

AHEARN’S SERVICE STATION
LINCOLN COUNTY, NEVADA

Mulder is carrying a paper bag with the FDR into the store. When he walks in he sees Scully and tells her he has the proof. She gives a look to the worker at the store, and the military men come running in and handcuff Mulder. He keeps screaming to Scully "He’s not me!" and "Would I do this?!" He looks so hurt that she doesn’t believe him, and she looks like it pains her to do this because she isn’t sure.

TO BE CONTINUED…
