TEASER
Detective Miles is driving down the road talking to Ray Hoese on the radio in his police car when the radio, clock, and his watch go
crazy. All he can hear from the other end of the line is static. Swerving to control the car, Miles runs into a car. Ray’s inside
who was already dead.
Ray walks up behind Miles and lets him see he is there.
ACT ONE
Special Agent Chesty Short talks to Mulder about their expenses.
SHORT: Gas, expenses, the motel rooms alone. By FBI standards these numbers are out of control.
MULDER: We could start sharing rooms.
SHORT: But at the end of the day, you'd say aliens are your real focus.
MULDER: That's the reason I got started, yeah.
SHORT: Investigating your sister's "abduction," and the "government conspiracy" around it. Both of which've been resolved.
Correct?
MULDER: Nothing has been resolved exactly.
SHORT: In this case report here it's concluded your sister is dead, as well as the men who took her. This is your handwriting
here on the report, Agent Mulder?
MULDER Yeah.
SHORT: So what exactly’s left to investigate?
PENAL COLONY
FORJ SIDI TOUI, TUNISIA
Marita comes to a prison block, where she releases Krycek.
The agent talks to Scully as well. When he asks her about the cases, she tells him that she has seen things that she cannot
explain. She doesn’t say that she doesn’t believe, but she doesn’t say that she does, either.
Krycek takes a shower (but you only see his head) as Marita looks on. She tells him she was sent by CSM, who is dying.
Mulder walks into his office. Short is there. He’s filed his report, and was asked to go over a few things.
MULDER: You said you were finished.
SHORT: I turned in my report and was asked to go over a few things. As you know, the times we live in, the world is changing
fast.
MULDER: I'm missing your point.
SHORT: As I said, this is an *evaluation,* Agent Mulder. To understand what *you do,* so if you go forward, you can do so
*more responsibly.*
MULDER: That sounds more like a threat.
SHORT: Cost benefit analysis. But if you want the truth, I really don't care one way or the other.
SHORT: You mostly record bizarre facts on bizarre cases. In other words, information gathering. Something, it seems to me,
you can easily do on the internet.
MULDER: I can't do my job from an office. I promise you.
SHORT: Nowadays the most advanced space exploration is done sitting in an office, Agent Mulder. Why? It's just too damn
expensive putting men in outer space.
MULDER: I'm not looking in outer space.
SHORT: Bringing us to the point. If you spend so much time and money looking for aliens, responsibly you should narrow your
search.
MULDER: To where?
SHORT: Wherever they are. It's not unreasonable. It's just a matter of *reducing your vision.*
BELLEFLEUR, OREGON
Two boys come to the forest only to find Detective Miles. They heard that a military jet fighter collided with a UFO. He tells
them that the navy found there plane about three miles away, and there was no evidence of any other crash. He sends them
home.
At the office:
MULDER: I think I’m in big trouble.
SCULLY:: Well, Mulder, how many times have they tried to shut us down?
MULDER: Yeah, but I never actually assaulted an auditor before.
SCULLY: (smiling): Did you hurt him?
MULDER: I *reduced his vision* a little bit.
Billy Miles calls Mulder and Scully. The abductions are happening again, but to someone else.
Billy’s father comes home, so he hangs up.
MULDER: More alien abductions, Scully.
SCULLY:: Mmm. I don’t know how we could possibly justify the expense.
MULDER (smiling): It’ll probably turn up nothing.
SCULLY (smiling): Let’s go waste some money.
THE WATERGATE APARTMENTS
WASHINGTON, D.C.
Marita takes Krycek to see CSM. He is dying. He wants Krycek to find the spaceship so they can rebuild the project.
The two boys, Gary and Richie, go into the woods where the sheriff had been. One runs into an ‘energy field.’ He gets stuck
in the air and shakes like from “Rush.”
Richie calls out to his friend but can’t find him. Suddenly his flashlights turn red hot and he drops them and runs off.
ACT TWO
Mulder and Scully meet with Billy Miles. He’s a sheriff now, and is also divorced. He tells them about the crash and the
missing deputy. His father still doesn’t believe any of it.
Detective Miles pulls up and talks to Mulder and Scully. Mulder lets him know they’re there about a UFO crash. He tells
them there was no crash at all.
The four drive for awhile, and then stop at the side of the road. They look down, and on the ground is the pink “X” that
Mulder spray painted seven years ago.
They follow the skid marks of Detective Miles’ car. Mulder crouches down to look at something on the ground. It’s a piece
of road that’s been corroded away.
Scully finds out that the deputy fired three shots at something. The detective asks what, and Mulder tells him probably nothing. Nothing is what they seem to find out there.
After the agents leave, Miles tells Billy to get in the car. He then walks around and opens the trunk. Inside is Detective Miles'
body, which has been affected by toxins.
Mulder and Scully go to Ray Hoese’s to talk to his wife. His wife turns out to be Teresa Nemman. She talks to them and tells
them that her husband was also a multiple abductee, which is why she thinks that the aliens took him. She gives Scully her baby
to hold while she gets her husband’s medical records, showing the implants.
Scully holds the baby in awe as Mulder watches her with a tender, sad look.
BELLEFLEUR, OREGON
8:07 PM
Mulder sits in his hotel room looking at the abduction photos, when Scully comes in. All of a sudden she got very dizzy.
Mulder helps her lay down on his bed under the covers. He then lays down and spoons up next to her, wrapping his arm
around her. He tells her that she’s going back home. The agent was right, but for all the wrong reasons, it takes a toll on their
lives, not the bureau money. He mentions Teresa’s baby and how hard he knows it is for her. He tells her that it has to end.
He whispers this all in her ear, and then kisses the side of her face.
........
CSM talks to Marita, telling her that he doesn’t trust Alex, but he knows he will find the ship. He tells her that he is certain it is
there, but it won’t be there forever – it’s rebuilding itself.
Billy comes into the house and points his gun. He finds his father and keeps it trained on him. He tells his father that he is not
going to let him take him. He asks if he would shoot his father. He asks that if he was his father, why won’t he believe him.
He tells him that he just wants it all to go away. He then coaxes Billy into giving him the gun. Billy sits down and cries.
Miles hears something outside. He shape shifts into the Alien Bounty Hunter. He turns to the window. Mulder and Scully
have arrived.
ACT FOUR
Krycek and Marita walk in. Mulder goes after them, but Skinner stops him. He tells him that he needs to listen to what
Krycek has to say.
Now the LGM are in the office as well. They agree that the energy field is a block so no one can find the space ship.IMAGES FROM "REQUIEM" (75)
