MEETING MULDER

Intrepid X-Pose reader Jamie Ruby went to visit the X-Files set recently, and was kind enough to share her experience.

Y FAMILY and I arrived on the Fox lot Wednesday morning. We went into the Ten Thirteen production office building where I saw Chris Carter's office.
Our tour guide showed us around the Fox lot where we saw various sets and props from different shows. We went into the Foley room where they create all the sound effects for various shows, and into the sound stage where there was a main area with a room to house an orchestra. Mark Snow has used both rooms. We saw wardrobes and props inside other rooms. Outside we also saw where David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson's trailers are.
Finally it was time to go into the X-Files set. There, I saw Gillian's stand-in, Michelle Chaldu, Brett Bell, David's stand-in and stunt double, and Steve Kiziak, David's photo double.
I was then told about the episode that was being filmed. It is called Hungry, and is about a brain eater. I also saw Rick Milikan around this time.
We were taken over near the side door of the set where they were filming.

When that part of the scene was over, Gillian walked out, followed by David.
The characters in the scenes I watched were Mulder, Scully, and the brain eater - Rob Roberts. David and Gillian were sitting on apple crates behind the camera, and Chad Donella (Rob) was on the couch in the living room. David had on sandals that did not go with his suit! Of course though, they were not filmed.
Mulder tells Rob about the body they found, and that in the autopsy Scully found a shark tooth-like object in the victim's head, with the brain missing. Rob asks why they are telling him that. Mulder tells him, "I think you know."
During the rest of the interrogation, Rob says that there is no such thing as monsters. On the way out, Mulder tells him to watch out for monsters.
Gillian walked over to me and shook my hand. I told her that I had met her backstage at the Expo in New York last year, and showed her a picture. She remembered me! She had to finish filming, and said she would be back to talk to me soon.
Someone told me to sit in Gillian's chair so I could see better! I watched the scene being filmed in front of me, as well as on the screen that Kim Manners was watching.
