Summary: Mulder and Scully discover that people are dying from radiation poisoning and fatal burns that somehow seem to be connected to fireflies. The fireflies are the new carrier of the black oil. How is the black oil connected to alien/human hybrid's blood and the retrovirus, and what does it have to do with the gestating organisms? This time, once someone is infected, there's no going back. Now, Mulder's been infected with the oil. Will Mulder survive? Have Mulder and Scully found a new, unexpected ally?
