The X-Files: Fight the Future

First off, I'd like to say, I'm sorry I didn't put up about the movie after I saw it on the morning of June 19th. I hope to actually start having time to work on my movie pages soon. So far as of July 17th, I have seen TXF: FTF 10 times! Plus I've seen the ending 11 times, because the one day, I came early, and they let me watch the end of the previous showing.

On June 19th, I went to see the movie at both 11:30 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. because I couldn't wait until the evening movie.:)

For the evening show, 13 (I think) of us (plus my family - because I made them go see it opening night too:) went to see "The X-Files: Fight the Future." I had been waiting to meet my friend Gary I met on an official "X-Files" chat who dressed up as Mulder, and I was Scully. (picture at right)

A few of my friends came with me to see the movie too, as well as did Gary's friends. (picture bottom left - [people facing camera] - from L to R, front row - Gary, Jessica, and I, back row - Krissy (the one giving the bunny ears to Jessica, and Rob.)

A few people there actually thought we were FBI! A group of kids came over to me before the movie, and (because I looked like Scully) wanted to shake my hand! The one girl even recognized me from my webpage! I had alot of fun that night, plus I made a great new friend.:)

About the movie, to summarize me feelings, I loved it! It was the best! So great that I went to see it again Saturday and Monday! And of course many times again after that! I think the movie is the best work of Chris Carter and the cast and crew ever. Usually I rate episodes based on two scales, based on my favorite episode, Redux II. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give the movie itself an 11 compared to the episode, and the shippiness an 11 as well!

The movie had everything, I think. The shippiness was great, although I think Mulder and Scully could have/should have kissed longer instead of just brushing lips.;) (If you look really close, you can see they do touch.) And of course there is a forehead kiss, and this time, it's not because one of them is hurt or dying, but because they wanted it to happen, which it plainly would have if it wasn't for the bee! You can see the love in their eyes, and surprise some that they see it mirrored in the other's. And when Scully's tear fell...OK, I admit, I did cry a little the first time. I couldn't help it! *sniff, sniff.* In all honesty, I'm not that disappointed they didn't kiss longer. I would have liked them too, but it wasn't like I was screaming at Chris Carter, ect. like I had planned to do if the bee spoiler came true!;P There was a lot of other shippy scenes as well. Of course there was the mouth to mouth, (I know he was saving her, but come on, it was shippy.:) and the end conversation about Scully not quitting, but you also can't forget how Mulder helped a naked Scully out of the cryopod! <vbeg> And also how Scully said she saw the UFO. (OK, I know there has been a lot of controversy over what Scully mumbled/whispered. I also read Chris Carter denied she said it. But I believe that she did, as do many of you.)

Even though it was not shippy, I even liked the very end. I mean, of course, the reopening of "The X-Files" was fantastic, but the 'fight the future' quote was also great, as well as the part showing that the experiments, ect. would continue, which was wonderful, in my opinion, because it showed what the show is about, how the government always covers things up, but that in the end, the Project and the Syndicate's plans, ect. will always continue. And that although Mulder and Scully may not always win every battle, they still always have each other, to fight the future, together.

Some special injokes/cool things, that I noticed in the movie:
My favorite quotes from the movie:

(Scully enters Mulder's apartment)
Mulder: What's wrong?
Scully: Salt Lake City, Utah. Transfer effective immediately. I already gave Skinner my letter of resignation.
Mulder: You can't quit now Scully.
Scully: I can, Mulder. I debated were or not to even tell you in person, because I knew--
Mulder: We're close to something here, we're on the verge--
Scully: You're on the verge, Mulder. Please, don't do this to me.
(Mulder gets up from his chair at his desk)
Mulder: After what you saw last night, after all you've seen, you can just walk away?
Scully: I have, I did, it's done.
Mulder: I need you on this!
Scully: You don't need me Mulder. You never have. I've just held you back. [pauses] I've got to go.
(Scully exits into the hallway, Mulder soon follows)
Mulder: If you wanna tell yourself that so you can quit with a clear conscience, you can. But you're wrong.
Scully: Why did they assign me to you in the first place, Mulder? To debunk your work, to rein you in, to shut you down...
Mulder: But you saved me. As difficult and as frustrating as it's been sometimes, your Goddammed strict rationalism and science have saved me a thousand times over. You kept me honest. You made me a whole person. I owe you everything, Scully, and you owe me nothing. I don't want to do this alone...I don't even know if I can. [pauses] And if I quit now, they win.

Cassidy: Most of what I find in here is lacking a coherent picture of any organization with an attributable motive. I realize the ordeal you've endured has clearly affected you--though the holes in your account leave this panel with little choice but to delete these references from our final report to the Justice Department. And until a time when hard evidence becomes available that would give us cause to pursue such an investigation.
Scully: I don't believe that the FBI currently has an investigative unit qualified to pursue the evidence at hand.
